DatPiff - Mixtapes & Music review
For those lovers of Hip-Hop and RnB who would like to keep up to date with all the latest on the mainstream and underground scenes, DatPiff provides an endless supply of mixtapes. The app lets you discover new artists and music; you can view all the latest videos, news, reviews, and download, search or stream mixtapes.
DatPiff offers users a giant collection of mixtapes and one of the largest libraries of mixes for music lovers anywhere online. The mixtape library stocks partial releases, EPs, and full album downloads. You can also check out highlighted tapes, new and trending releases and what’s hot segments. You’ll be able to scan various mixtapes as you listen to your playlist and even use other apps as your song plays in the background.
With the platform provided for independent material, budding artists will especially find this app useful to check out the reception for their releases.
The app is free to stream on and get access to, with all the exclusive content that it provides.
The UI has a brilliant layout, and the design is slick. The app refreshes automatically if you move to view another app. This is a great inconvenience if you are streaming a mixtape and have to start all the way from the beginning. It is possible to favorite the mixtape you are listening to, but Datpiff always loses my favorites. Recommendations from customers include introducing a playlist function, although I doubt that might happen any time soon due to the extreme lag, even with downloading single tracks. The app should also give me the ability to sort downloads in alphabetical order. DatPiff suffers too many crashes and bugs recently, so long-time users may find the experience lackluster with the last few updates.
The app requires iOS 9.0 or later for iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone, the compatibility with Android varies with the device.
DatPiff provides awesome content for a free utility, and music lovers who can’t pay for expensive subscriptions to Tidal and Spotify will find this app quite handy. While the mainstream content is limited and you might not be able to customize all your playlists, it still is a great way to keep updated on all things Hip-Hop and RnB.
